Martha
Mitchell
In Mostly Her Own Words
A One-Act Monologue by Rosanna Yamagiwa
Alfaro. Music by Jive, Marie
Buigues and Joan Faber
Geralyn Horton as Martha Mitchell. Joan Faber at the
Keyboard. Directed by June Lewin
"...the
Nixon Watergate scandal as seen through the eyes of one of
its most colorful casualties... a fascinating tale of egomania and
paranoia." - The
Boston Phoenix
|

"Rosanna
Yamagiwa Alfaro pulls no punches
in her frighteningly revelatory script
of an
era in US history that must go down as one
of the most corrupt
and shocking.
No less shocking was the ruination of a
principled woman.
Ms. Horton
lovingly,
painfully and vehemently
pays her a just and moving
homage."

Jennie
Litt & David Alpher's "Songs In A Moribund Idiom"
The duo tackles topics as diverse as the weaponization
of space and the timeless mystery of weight loss, all with
tongue held firmly in cheek. Alpher's sophisticated,
tuneful, humorous—and decidedly unclassical—music
embraces styles from jazz to blues to faux Elizabethan and
beyond. Songs In A Moribund Idiom is entertainment
in the tradition of another great New England-bred talent,
Tom Lehrer... comic songs and social satire, to the tune
of a virtuoso piano.
|

Alpher and Litt
have been
called a
perfect musical ensemble," and one critic
wrote, "Jennie
Litt's lovely voice is
perfectly suited to her repertoire... .
She can really sell a song, like
Barbara Cook can sell a song." Alpher's playing has
been described as
"brilliant... and idiomatic," and
the
Newark Star-Ledger said
"Alpher’s music is
all his own, and it
is remarkably good...remarkably rare."
